Gateway Services observes National Arbor Day

(Photo contributed)

Gateway Services of Princeton observed National Arbor Day by planting a Prairie Fire Crab tree in the yard of their community residence on North Maple Street. The tree was installed by the crew and purchased from Cliff Cartwright of Bryant Nurseries as part of the city of Princeton. Tree City USA 50/50 reimbursement program. Princeton Mayor Keith Cain proclaimed April 24 as Arbor Day in the city of Princeton. He further noted that trees help cut heating and cooling costs, clean the air, produce oxygen, and create habitat for wildlife. Princeton has met the qualifications as a Tree City by the National Arbor Day Foundation for 20 consecutive years.
