Looking for vendors
LADD — The Ladd Community Improvement Association is seeking vendors for a farmer’s market to be held in the city park each Saturday during late spring, summer and fall. For information, call Molly Thrasher at (815) 894-2619.
Open house
HARMON — Pleasant Place, an earth-sheltered home in rural Harmon, will have an open house from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. There is no admission charge. The home is located at 802 Union Road, one mile west of Route 26, between Princeton and Dixon.
Lifeguard class
HENNEPIN — The Hennepin pool will sponsor an American Red Cross Lifeguard class from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day from June 8 to 12. Participants must be 15 years old before the end of the class. For more information and pool hours call, (815) 925-7319.
Cookout
WYANET — A cookout to benefit Wyanet Youth Baseball will be from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Wyanet Locker. Rib eyes, butterfly pork chops, brats, hot dogs, chips and pop will be served.

PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans Group will conduct a cookout beginning at 10:30 a.m. May 23 at Sullivans in Princeton. The menu will include brats, hot dogs and butterfly pork chops, with soda and chips also available.
Breastfeeding support
SPRING VALLEY — La Leche League of the Illinois Valley, a breastfeeding support group, will meet at 9:30 a.m. May 21 at Webster Park, Spring Valley. This monthly group is designed to help mothers gain knowledge and support from other breastfeeding moms. May’s discussion will revolve around, but is not limited to “The Advantages of Breastfeeding”. Cookout planned
PRINCETON — Orchard View Rehabilitation and Health Care will hold a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Carquest in Princeton. Proceeds from the event will go to the Illinois Valley Memory Walk (Alzheimer’s Association).
