Lunch in the Park

PRINCETON — Lunch in the Park will be from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday at Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton. The First Presbyterian Church will serve the meat and the GFWC will have the bake sale.

Meeting set

SPRING VALLEY — The Hall High School Class of 1969 will hold a reunion planning meeting at 6:30 p.m. June 30 in the meeting room of the Spring Valley City Bank. The reunion is set for Oct. 3 at the Spring Creek Golf Course. Any class member interested in helping should attend the meeting.

Townwide sales

BUDA — Townwide garage sales in Buda will be July 18 starting at 8 a.m. Sign-up sheets are available at Casey’s in Buda. The last day to sign up is July 4 to be on the map. The Buda Rescue Unit will have a lunch stand in the Casey’s parking lot. Maps will be available at Casey’s on July 17.

Flag disposal

PRINCETON — American Legion Post 125 of Princeton will properly dispose of old worn American flags. Flags may be dropped off in the vestibule at the post home at 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton.

Banners available

PRINCETON — The American Legion has one- and two-star service banners on hand at the post home. Banners are available by calling (815) 872-1171 and leaving a message or by calling (815) 872-7891 in the evenings. The Post also has new American-made U.S. flags on hand by calling the above numbers. Three-star banners can be special ordered if needed.

Movie in the Park

SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield United Methodist Church will host a “Movie in the Park” event at 8 p.m. Sunday at Veterans School Park in Sheffield. Participants should bring blankets and lawn chairs. The movie will be “Cars.” Refreshments will be served. In case of rain, the movie will be shown in the church basement across the street from the park.
