It’s not harmless fun

To the Editor,

Now that summer is nearly here, so most likely is the Harry Potter Festival Princeton has been celebrating for some years now. Many readers and businesses participate in the festivities, thinking it harmless fun. I also used to think it harmless, until I realized the deception of it all. Just as in the garden of Eden, the serpent tempted Eve to doubt what God told her, so he could manipulate her into thinking his temptation was harmless.

We continue to disregard what is so plainly told to us in God’s work, so we can do as we wish. Check out Deuteronomy 18:15-11, “Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son of daughter in the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead.

Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord and because of these detestable practices, the Lord your God will drive out those notions before you.”

Is it not said clearly enough not to participate or encourage witchcraft?

God only wants his best for us, but we often bring heartache on ourselves for not listening. Please consider this in a time when our morals and country are failing as we draw farther and farther away from God’s principles. Know that God turns his face away from those who turn away from him.
