Malden students ready for ‘Mini-Relay’

MALDEN — Malden Grade School students will join the fight against cancer by raising money and completing a “Mini-Relay” at the school on Wednesday. Students participate in the “Mini-Relay,” which is an abbreviated version of the American Cancer Society’s national signature activity, Relay For Life, by collecting donations. They will also hold a fun fair throughout the day on Wednesday along with the “Mini-Relay.”

The “Mini-Relay” is an all-day event with the walking laps from 8 to 10 a.m. and includes a cancer survivor lap and recognition.

Volunteers will also provide participants with cancer education information related to good nutrition, sun safety and other cancer prevention tips. The fun fair will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The money raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society Relay For Life of Bureau County and St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
