Catholic clergy appointments announced

The following appointments have been announced for area Catholic clergy:

• The Rev. Henry Fritz, O.S.B., from pastor, St. Benedict’s, Ladd, to return to St. Bede Abbey.

• The Rev. Bernard Horzen, O.S.B., from pastor, St. Thomas More Parish, Dalzell, to return to St. Bede Abbey.

• The Rev. Michael Monclova, from pastor, Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Spring Valley, and St. Gertrude’s Mission, Seatonville, and assisting with local Hispanic needs, to pastor, St. Anthony’s Parish, Atkinson.

• The Rev. Martin Mwongyera, from parochial vicar, Immaculate Conception Parish, Monmouth, St. Theresa’s Parish, Alexis, and St. Andrew’s Mission, Oquawka, and chaplain, OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth, to parochial vicar, St. Anthony’s Parish, Spring Valley, Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Spring Valley, St. Joseph’s Parish, Peru, and St. Mary’s Parish, Peru, and associate chaplain, St. Margaret’s Hospital, Spring Valley.

• The Rev. Robert Rayson, while remaining pastor, St. Hyacinth’s and St. Patrick’s parishes, LaSalle, and rector, Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine, LaSalle, to pastor, St. Thomas More Parish, Dalzell, and St. Benedict’s Parish, Ladd.

• The Rev. Robert Spilman, while remaining pastor, St. Anthony’s and Immaculate Conception parishes, Spring Valley, to pastor, Sts. Peter and Paul Parish, Spring Valley, and St. Gertrude’s Parish, Seatonville.

Unless otherwise noted, all appointments will be effective June 17.
