'Fitness is Fun' summer camps set

PRINCETON — The University of Illinois Extension – Bureau County Office is on a road trip this summer offering a week-long “Fitness is Fun” camp to youth ages 8 to 12 years old. Camps will be run by U of I Extension staff Kristin Jefferson and Monico Nunez. The following camps have been set:

Wyanet — 10 a.m. to noon June 26, 29, 30, July 1, 2 and 6.

Bureau Junction — 1 to 3 p.m. July 13-17 and 20.

DePue — 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 3-7 and 10.

Each camp will be packed full of fun physical activities such as water balloon relays, tug-o-war, walks in the park, dancing and many other exciting games. Also, kids will be provided with a healthy snack and an important nutrition lesson each day. The camp is free of charge. To register, call the Extension office at (815) 875-2878.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
