IVCC students earn academic honors
OGLESBY — Thirty-four student athletes received academic recognition to the Arrowhead Conference for the 2008-09 sports season. Students earned a minimum 3.0 GPA during the academic year, completed two semesters or three quarters and passed a minimum of 12 hours each term.
IVCC students named to the All-Arrowhead Academic team are: Basketball —Cynthia Moore of Rockford, Helen Muleya of DeKalb, Beth Prostko of Tonica, Chris Hudson and Chad Sipovic of LaSalle and Cooper Westvig of Sheridan; in softball, Alecia Condie and Katie Reese of Peru, Stacey Kinzer and Alyssa Novak of Utica, Megan Pyszka of Dimmick and Mandy Towne of Ottawa; in tennis, Samantha Carlson, Kayla Samolinski and Kyle Wineinger of LaSalle, Kelsey Dewalt of Grand Ridge, Rachel Hoffman of LaSalle, Kaitlin Liesse, Keith Lipka and Jake Rathbun of Peru, Megan Pyszka of Dimmick, Brian Hybki of Oglesby and Adam Jobst and Scott Nelson of Ottawa; in volleyball, Victoria Pflibsen of Manville, Meredith Rounds of Ladd, Heather Safranski of Peru and Kayla Conroy of Minonk; in baseball, Shane Browning of LaSalle, Taylor Caputo of Streator, Ben Durham of Walnut and Ben Fogle of McNabb; and in golf, Troy Bauer of Mendota, Mark Hundley of Peru and Mason Kimberley of Princeton.
