Manlius Village Board 6-2

MANLIUS — The Manlius took action on the following items at its meeting June 2:

• Heard the bids for the sewer system were out and will be opened on June 30.

• Approved filling the vacant board seat with Trisha Johnson.

• Heard village president Gene Menard will be available at the town from 7 to 9 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month for residents to come in with questions or concerns on village issues.

• Heard Kelli Hewitt is still checking into the credit card machine for utility bill payments and will have more information at the July board meeting.

• Discussed concerns with a resident about a swimming pool. The concerns have been taken care of.

• Heard Sheriff John Thompson will attend the next meeting to discuss police protection for the village.

• Heard the Lions Club will be working on the new slide at the park.

• Heard Menard signed a contract with the city of Princeton to do the mosquito spraying this summer.

• Discussed health issues regarding an apartment building on Maple Avenue.

• Heard Manlius Day will be held Aug. 8. Dawn Reglin, Trisha Johnson and Jan Williams will be on a committee for children’s games and activities at the park.

• Approved a motion to donate the money that was donated from the after-school program toward the children’s games.

• Approved donating $1,000 for the Manlius Day Fund.

• Heard Menard would talk with residents about the village ordinance that requires households with four or more animals to obtain a kennel license.

• Heard concerns about water problems in the basement of the Phelps' rental house.

• Approved a motion to get some bids for week control on village property.

• Heard five car notices were sent out, and only one was taken care of. A second notice will be sent out.

The next regular meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. July 7 at the village hall.
