TISKILWA/HENNEPIN — Blanche M. Braun, 83 of Tiskilwa and Hennepin, died Sunday, June 21, 2009, at the Spring Valley Nursing Center in Spring Valley.
Born April 12, 1926, in Mount Paletine, to Ivan and Maude (Holocker) Sipe, she married Robert T. Braun June 23, 1950, in Sparland. He died Aug. 12, 2005.
After she graduated high school she attended Brown’s Business College. She had worked for the Farm Bureau in Henry, and Josten’s and Pioneer in Princeton.
She was a member of Tiskilwa Yoked Parish and attended the Hennepin United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women’s Organization in Tiskilwa and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Tiskilwa.
Surviving are two daughters, Vicki (Mike) Black of Hennepin and Nita (John) O’Neill of Hennepin; one sister, Fay Murphy of Streator; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel, Granville, with the Rev. Brian Caughlan officiating. Burial will be in the Granville Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Monday in the chapel.
Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice.
