PMH July outreach clinics
PRINCETON — Perry Memorial Hospital has announced upcoming outreach clinics for July in the following towns:
Walnut — 9 to 11 a.m. July 11 at Citizens First State Bank.
Princeton — 9 to 10 a.m. July 8 at the Princeton Hi-rise.
DePue — 3 to 4:30 p.m. July 17 at Citizens First National Bank.
Henry — 9:30 to 11 a.m. July 18 at Citizens First National Bank.
Sheffield — 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.  July 15 at Concord Township Building.
Princeton — 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. July 24 at Perry Memorial Hospital’s north lobby.

St. Margaret’s blood screening Wednesday
SPRING VALLEY — St. Margaret’s Hospital will provide a free blood sugar/blood pressure screening from 7 to 9 a.m. Wednesday in the DeAngelo resource rooms, rooms 104 and 105, on the hospital’s first floor. PMH offers  childbirth classes
PRINCETON — In an effort to accommodate busy expectant parents, Perry Memorial Hospital will present a “Partners In Childbirth” class. The purpose of this class is to alleviate any fears or misconceptions about childbirth, to provide techniques for relaxation and bonding with a coach during labor and delivery and to prepare expectant parents for the arrival and care of their new infant.
This class is free of charge and is scheduled from 7 to  9 p.m. on Tuesdays; July 7, 14, 21 and 28 at Perry Memorial Hospital in the white oak classroom. Interested parties must pre-register by calling (815) 876-2282.

Visions meeting
SPRING VALLEY — “Visions,” a support group for the blind and visually impaired, will meet from 12:30 to 2 p.m. on July 2, in St. Margaret’s first floor presentation room.
“Visions” meets regularly on the first and third Thursday of each month from 12:30 to 2 p.m. For more information, call (815) 664-1613 or (815) 223-5346, ext. 1613.

IVCH childbirth class Wednesday
PERU — The next series of prepared childbirth classes for women in the last trimester of pregnancy begins at 7 p.m. Wednesday in conference room “A” at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. Additional sessions are scheduled for July 8, 15 and 22.
Taught by Tess Freiburg, R.N., the class concentrates on Lamaze instruction, presenting one phase of the Lamaze method of childbirth at each of the four sessions. All participants are asked to dress comfortably and to bring two pillows and one blanket or exercise mat to each session.
The prepared childbirth series is offered every other month.  To register for the class, call IVCH event registration at (815) 780-3337.

IVCH siblings class Tuesday
PERU — Children of expectant parents can find out what they can expect from the arrival of a new brother or sister when they attend the next prepared siblings class at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, in conference room “A” at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
Structured to prepare children over the age of 2 for the arrival of a new family member, the one-session class is led by Sandy Ghighi, R.N., and features a tour of the IVCH obstetrics unit, birthing rooms, nursery and waiting area. A film will also be shown.

Al-Anon meeting
PRINCETON — Al-Anon will hold its first meeting from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Friday at the Prouty Building, 435 S. Main St.

Blood drive
PRINCETON— The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will have a blood drive from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 2 in the fourth-floor multi-purpose room at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton. Donors who gave blood on or before May 7 are eligible. Donors must be 16 years old, in good health, and weigh at least 110 pounds. A blood donor card or other photo I.D. is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form. To donate call MVRBC at (800) 747-5401, ext. 119.
