BLOOMINGTON — The best senior basketball players from the 2008-09 season in the state of Illinois have assembled this weekend for the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.

Longtime Seneca coach Doug Evans, who retired after a 25-year successful stint at Seneca, will coach the Class 1A/2A North squad, reuniting with his son, Seth, for one final time. They led the Irish to the Class A state title in 2006.

Annawan all-stater Alex Coppejans, who will return to the Twin Cities to attend Illinois State University this fall, will suit up for the final time for North. Also suiting up for the North will be Putnam County’s Kevin Fay, Jordan Prosser of Eureka, Paris Gulley and C.J. March of Peoria Manual, Ethan Koehler of Midland, Nathan Kohler of Wethersfield and Billy Molinari of Peoria Christian.

The 1A/2A all-star game will tip off at 5 p.m. at the Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University. The 3A/4A game will follow at 7 p.m.
