Magazine
recognizes PMH

PRINCETON — Perry Memorial Hospital was recently recognized in the national magazine “Modern Healthcare” and commended for the “fun” and “unique” method used to educate staff and increase awareness of what can go wrong in a patient room.

The magazine noted in the article that, in this age of high-tech initiatives to boost patient safety and staff training, Perry recreated an old and familiar child’s game of “I Spy.” A mock patient room was staged with a mannequin and more than 80 safety problems. Employees were asked to observe the room and note all the medical violations they could find.

Celia Goers, director of Care Management at Perry, stated that “the goal of the exercise was to make the staff aware of the need to stay alert while making the exercise fun.”
