LCN debate continues

By Donna Barker - dbarker@bcrnews.com

PRINCETON — The management at LCN Closers in Princeton is continuing its evaluation of the Princeton plant’s operations.

On Thursday, LCN human resource manager Kyle Stuebs said no final decisions have been made on issues like shift consolidations, layoffs or operations within the plant. The management continues to evaluate the business model for the Princeton plant and what is best to secure success in the future, he said. However, the management is getting closer to reaching its decisions, Stuebs said.

As those decisions are reached, the employees will be notified first and then the media will be contacted, Stuebs said.

As he stated before, Stuebs said there are absolutely no plans or considerations to close the Princeton plant.

About three weeks ago, Stuebs confirmed LCN management had met with employees to let them know the management was taking an extensive evaluation of LCN’s entire business model and was looking at ways to keep the business successful now and in the future. That meeting could have caused some uncertainty for employees, Stuebs acknowledged.

On Thursday, Stuebs said he realizes there is still a certain level of uncertainty and concern among the employees. That uncertainty will no doubt continue until decisions are made and announced.

“It’s important to us that we communicate as early and as honestly as we can with our employees,” Stuebs said. “We will keep our employees informed as decisions are made.”

LCN Closers handles both exterior, interior and specialty door closer needs. The Princeton plant opened in 1949 and employs about 390 people.
