Burton Mungor
WALNUT — Burton R. Mungor, 80, of 324 Meltzer St., Walnut, died Friday, July 3, 2009, at the Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.
Born April 30, 1929, in Walnut to Ralph and Mary (Taylor) Mungor, he married Letha Carrington Dec. 27, 1957, in Princeton. She survives.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked at Walnut Custom Homes for 47 years, retiring in 1994.
He was a member of Walnut American Legion Post 179 and Happy Hookers Club.
Also surviving are one son, Michael (Melynda) Mungor of Cherry Valley; one grandson, Nicholas Mungor of Chicago; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don Mungor; and one sister, Shirley Clark.
A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Garland Funeral Home, Walnut, with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Burial of cremains will be in the Walnut Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the services Tuesday at the funeral home.
