DALZELL — Registration for Dalzell Grade School will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 4 in the school office.

Textbook fees and all required physical forms for kindergarten and sixth grade, eye exam forms for kindergarten, and dental forms for kindergarten, second and sixth grades are to be turned in at this time. All students entering fifth grade are required to have three doses of Hepatitis B vaccine before the beginning of the school year. All students entering kindergarten are required to have one dose of the varicella vaccine. A copy of a lead screening risk assessment is also required for kindergarten students. Students in fifth through eighth grade are eligible to participate in the sports programs and must have physicals by the first practice.

Anyone new to the district who has not yet registered or notified the school of their child attending should call or come to the office as soon as possible.

Student emergency forms and supply lists for anyone not receiving one at the end of the school year will be handed out on this day. It is each parent’s responsibility to register their own child.

Any child who has not previously attended school in the district must present a certified copy of a birth certificate obtained from the county in which the child was born.

The fee for a kindergarten textbook is $35 and grades one through eight is $50. Kindergarten students and students new to the district will have an individual student headphone fee of $7. P.T.O. dues of $6 may be paid at time of registration.

A teacher’s institute will be held at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 18. The first pupil attendance day will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Aug. 19. Bus transportation will be provided for rural pupils. School will be dismissed at 2 p.m. Aug. 20 through Aug. 22. The first full day of school will be 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 25. Kindergarten dismissal will be at 12:30 p.m. daily. School pictures will be taken Sept. 4.
