Sandwich Opera House announces fall programs
SANDWICH — The Sandwich Opera House opens its' 24th season with a lineup of seasoned favorites throughout the Fox Valley and the Chicagoland area.
Rounding out the Sandwich Sesquicentennial weekend celebration on Sept. 26 will be Chicago Voice Exchange. This "absolutely acapella" quartet will feature music through the past 150 years. From Cubs and White Sox games, to corporate and school events, from low brow to high — their insouciance and self-deprecating humor leaves a trail of smiles and broken dishes wherever they go. This performance is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18, $15 for seniors 65 plus and $12 for students.
Mojo and the Bayou Gypsies invites all to enjoy an all new intimate evening of Red Hot Mojo Music, stories, humor and more in "Life is Better on the Bayou," on Oct. 2 at 7:30 p.m. "Life is Better on the Bayou" shares the personal stories and family life behind nearly 25 years of Mojo and the Bayou Gypsies' world-renowned music — creole, zydeco and cajun. Mister Mojo is the vocalist, accordion player, songwriter, and father figure for The Bayou Gypsies. Internationally known for his work, Mojo is a truly charismatic performer. Tickets are $20, $18 for seniors 65 plus and $15 for students.
On Nov. 14, at 8 p.m., an Opera House favorite, Corky Siegel, returns with Randy Sabien. Corky has earned an international reputation as one of the world's great blues harmonica masters. And when Randy Sabien picks up his violin, get ready! Together, their swingin' sound will have you bobbin' your head, tapping your toes and dancing right out of your chair. Tickets are $22.50, $20 for seniors 65 plus and $18 for students.
The Sandwich Opera House is located at 140 E. Railroad St, The box office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and one hour before performances. The auditorium is wheelchair accessible.
