Community worship service on Sunday

PRINCETON — The second annual community worship at the Bureau County Fair is scheduled for Sunday.

The service, beginning at 10 a.m., will once again be held in the grandstand at the fairgrounds and the entire community is invited to attend. This year, there are 19 churches that have either adjusted their morning worship times or transferred their services entirely to this one community worship service during the fair.

Once again, no offering will be taken during the service. It is a gift to the people of this community funded by the participating churches and all are invited to join in the experience. This year’s guest speaker will be Bill Allison of Cadre Ministries.

Churches that are known to be fully participating are: Victory Worship Center in Princeton, Hampshire Colony Church in Princeton, Bureau Congregational Church, First Lutheran Church in Princeton, Tiskilwa Community Church, Presbyterian Church in Princeton, Kasbeer Community Church, Princeton Wesleyan Church, Evangelical Covenant Church in Princeton, Hollowayville United Church of Christ, First Baptist Church in Manlius, Van Orin Gospel Church, First Baptist Church in Princeton, Bethel Baptist Church in Princeton, St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Princeton, Princeton Bible Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Princeton, First United Methodist Church in Princeton and Walnut Bible Church.

Music by the Covered Bridge Chorus will begin at 9:45 a.m. with the service to follow. Parking will be at the west parking lot of the fairgrounds and fair admission will be reduced following the service for those who would like to attend the rest of the fair. Those with mobility challenges will be assisted by asking at the gate. Participants are asked to arrive early to prevent the traffic congestion that was experienced last year due to the large crowd. Also, due to the large number in attendance last year, additional seating will be available on the track.

The 154th Bureau County Fair runs Aug. 26-30 in Princeton. For more information, visit www.bureaucountyfair.com.
