60 Plus walking club

PRINCETON — The Perry Memorial Hospital 60 Plus Program is offering a Walking Club. 60 Plus members and guests are invited to Perry Memorial Hospital to participate in short wellness walks which are about 1 mile. The Walking Club will meet on Sept. 15 at 10 a.m. in the Medical Office Building North Lobby. Nancy Sims, RN, senior services coordinator, will check participants’ blood pressure both prior to and following the walk.  In addition, a light snack will be provided. Please call Melody at (815) 876-4454 to make your reservation for this event. This event is open to the public. Please consult your physician before beginning any new exercise routine.

Grief and loss group to meet

PRINCETON — The Bureau Valley Volunteer Hospice Grief and Loss Support Group will hold its monthly meeting at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 15, in the Perry Memorial Hospital Chapel. In order to deal with the pain of loss, and work through the grief of losing someone you love, Bureau Valley Volunteer Hospice wants to support you in your journey of remembering and grieving. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month. For more information, contact the hospice administrator at (815) 876-3375.

Breastfeeding group to meet

PRINCETON — This monthly group, held at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton, is designed to help mothers gain support from other breastfeeding moms. All nursing women are welcome to attend. The meetings will be hosted by lactation consultants Jenny Nurss-Ullinskey, RN and Liz Birkey, RN. Mothers are welcome to bring their infants, as well as other children to these meetings. The next meeting will be at 6 p.m. Sept. 15. Meetings are held at Perry Memorial Hospital. Refreshments and snacks will be provided. Call (815) 876-2282 for information.
