PRINCETON — The Princeton Book Club will meet at the Princeton Public Library at 4 p.m. Thursday to discuss “The Blood of Flowers” by Anita Amirrezvani. Anyone is invited to join the group in discussing this book.

A Preschool Story Hour will take place at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and the emphasis will be on Robert McClouskey and ducks. The program will be held in the Youth Services Department, and preschool children and their parents or guardians are welcome to attend.

Youth Services will celebrate the birthday of author Roald Dahl throughout the month of September. Each Tuesday, Rachel Bystry will read chapters from one of Dahl’s books from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Each Wednesday, Youth Services will show a Dahl movie at 3:30 p.m.

At 4:30 p.m. Tuesday Gamma Phi will meet.

The library board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The public is invited to attend.

SPRING VALLEY — There will be an American Girl Tea Party from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library for girls in first through sixth grade. Whether you have an American Girl doll or not, you are welcome to join in celebrating Valerie Tripp’s birthday. Tripp is the author who first introduced the American Girls. Surprises await. So don’t be late and register by phoning the library at (815) 663-4741.

Also, the library will hold story times featuring author Kate McMullan Tuesdays throughout September.

From 6 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Sept. 22, there will be guest readers for “I’m Bad!” the story of a dinosaur, and “I Stink!” the story of a garbage truck.

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille-Clarion Library would like to inform everyone September is National Library Card Sign Up Month! What better time of year to get a library card? Fall is right around the corner with shorter days and cooler weather – a perfect time to curl up with a good book or video. Stop in and sign up for a library card. LaMoille-Clarion Public Library will be happy to get you started.

For the kids, the library has “Aliens are Coming!” by Meghan McCarthy, “Constance and Tiny” and “Constance and The Great Escape” by Pierre LeGall, the new “American Girl Meet Rebecca” series by Jacqueline Dembar Greene, the “Artemis Fowl” series by Eoin Colfer, “Sir Fartsalot Hunts the Booger” by Kevin Bolger, and “Thea Stilton and the Dragon’s Code” by Thea Stilton.

September is a great month for new releases in both adult and children’s titles. Don’t miss out; get your library card today!

WYANET — Thursday is the 2nd Thursday@the Library Kick-off time at the Raymond A. Sapp Library. At 6:30 p.m. Chef Monika Sudakov from the Chestnut Street Inn will visit the library. Chef Monika and her husband, Jeff, originally from Southern California, run the Chestnut Street Inn Bed and Breakfast in Sheffield. Chef Monika, who has a master’s degree in cultural anthropology, will cook up some inspiring edibles for the program’s participants to sample, while she educates them about the Moroccan culture. The library staff and board invite you to come visit the library and learn about food and Morocco.

LADD — Deb Schultz of North Central Bank will be at the Ladd Public Library to educate the community on Identity Theft at 6 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday. This program is free to the public and registration is not required.

The library will resume its pre-school story times on Sept. 21, and will continue to meet on the first and third Monday of each month at 10:30. a.m. These programs are designed for pre-school aged children with a parent and include stories, activities and a craft.

Thank-you to all who participated in our summer reading program. We had a great a turnout and hope you all enjoyed the activities.

Also, the library is hoping to start a book club. Anyone who is interested may sign up at the library and fill out a brief survey. As we are still in the planning phase, meeting times have not yet been decided, but we’d love to see how many interested parties we have.

MINERAL — The Book Discussion at the Mineral Gold Library will meet on Tuesdays from 2 to 3 p.m. starting Tuesday. Contact the library for more information.

SHEFFIELD — The Sheffield Public Library will have a rummage sale later this fall and the library is looking for donations of anything that is gently used. Pick up of donations can be arranged by calling the library at (815) 454-2628 during business hours or calling Dawn at (815) 878-9771 or Tami at (309) 847-5009 when the library is closed.
