Randolph Vecchia
SPRING VALLEY — Randolph “Randy” Vecchia, 60, of 320 W. Second Place, Spring Valley, died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
Born May 22, 1949, in LaSalle to John and Virginia (Kotecki) Vecchia, he married Karen Lorenzini Oct. 3, 1970, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Spring Valley. She survives.
He was a 1967 graduate of Hall High School. He was a tool and die maker at Westclox and then worked at Bassicks. He then owned and operated Acorn Finishing and Manufacturing in LaSalle in 1983 and Electro-Glo Distribution in LaSalle, starting in 1994.
He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Spring Valley and the Spring Valley Police Pension Board.
Also surviving are two daughters, Tricia (Jason) Casford of Dalzell and Laura Vecchia of Spring Valley; one sister, Carole Popplewell of Russell Springs, Ky.; and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Casford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and mother-in-law.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the Barto Funeral Home, Spring Valley, and at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Spring Valley, with the Rev. Robert Spilman officiating. Burial will be in Valley Memorial Park, Spring Valley.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
