Winn gets jail time

PRINCETON — A Dover woman will spend three months in the county jail after pleading guilty to the Class 2 felony of possession of a stolen firearm.

Jessica L. Winn, 22, entered her guilty plea Sept. 8 in Bureau County Court before Associate Circuit Judge C J. Hollerich.

Winn was also placed on three years probation and ordered to pay $330 in restitution and court costs. She was also ordered to attend counseling as recommended by the probation department and pay a $15 monthly probation fee.

On April 5, a Malden couple reported two weapons were missing from their residence, and they suspected Winn and her male companion. The victim was able to give a description of the vehicle used by the Winn and her companion. The Bureau County Sheriff’s Department located the vehicle in Sheffield and recovered the two firearms in a nearby location. Winn admitted she had taken the firearms from the victims’ residence.
