Autumn festival BISHOP HILL — The 38th annual Jordbruksdagarna, the Swedish autumn festival, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 26 and 27 at Bishop Hill State Historic Site. The event will feature demonstrations, performances, food, music, dance and games. The event is free and open to the public. Bunco fundraiser GRANVILLE — The We Bee UCC Relay for Life team will host a bunco party at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 2, at the United Church of Christ in Granville. A $10 admission includes three games of Bunco and all the food you can eat. Raffles and a 50/50 drawing will be held. There will be prizes for the most Buncos and losses. WW II railway event UNION — The Illinois Railway Museum in cooperation with local World War II re-enactors will recreate how trains played a part in the events of World War II, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 3 at the railway museum in Union. More than 100 military and civilian living historians will set up field camps and home front displays to bring to life the years of the greatest generation and how railroads helped win the war. To assist in bringing the 1940s to life, railway rolling stock, including original Pullman cars and street trolleys, will be featured. |
