Megan Mussche had eight digs for BV. IVC 2, Hall 0: The Lady Ghosts defeated Hall in Tuesday’s NCIC Lincoln opener 25-13, 25-15. Mickey Victor led the Lady Devils with five kills, and Christina Richardson had two aces and five digs. Peoria Christian 2, St. Bede 1: The Lady Bruins dug in for a battle with Tri-County favorite Peoria Christian, a match lasting one and one-half hours. In the end, Christian outlasted the Lady Bruins for a 25-18, 23-25, 25-23 victory. “It was a powerful battle back and forth, especially through Games 2 and 3,” SBA coach Dawn Williams said. Kayla MacDavitt had eight kills, and Bethany Stavrakas added six kills and six points. Taylor Miller delivered six points with four aces. Junior high The Ladd Indians split Monday match-ups with Bureau Valley North with a 25-22, 21-25, 25-23 victory in the seventh grade. Leading the way for Ladd was Carly Kirkman with 18 points, Carlee Yuvan (16) and Lexi Saepharn (14). In the eighth-grade match, BVN was a 17-25, 25-21, 25-10 winner. The Indians (3-3) were led by Ashley Sartain with 18 points and Diane Bernardoni with 11 points. |
