Golbys celebrate 55th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. John M. Golby of rural Neponset recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

John Golby and the former Barbara Curran, both of Neponset, were married Sept. 18, 1954, at Visitation Catholic Church in Kewanee. They are the parents of two daughters, Carol (David) Saunders of Vernon, Ariz., and Julie (Doug) O’Riley of Galva, and one son, Martin (Susan) Golby of rural Geneseo. They also have seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John has farmed his entire life in rural Neponset. Barbara retired in 2002 with a career as a registered nurse, most recently working as a CNA instructor at Black Hawk College East Campus in Kewanee.
