EAST PEORIA — Marion G. Rieker, 80, of East Peoria, formerly of Sheffield, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009, at Rosewood Care Center in Peoria.
He was born Sept. 29, 1928, in Malden to Martin Rieker and Hazel (Hubbard) Rieker. He farmed in the Malden and Sheffield area all his life. He was a member of IVEC for many years, and the Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge. He was previously married to Marjorie Emerick.
Surviving are four sons, David (Ina) Rieker of Davenport, Iowa, Don (Irene) Rieker of Carol Stream, Dan (Judy) Rieker of Georgia and Chris (Melanie) Rieker of East Peoria; one daughter, Mary (Bob) Sprowls of California; one brother, Marty Rieker of Milan; one sister, Velma Sergeant of Milan; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Jim Lemberg officiating. Burial will be private and at a later date.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
