About 350 people from Ohio, Walnut, LaMoille, Manlius, Princeton and Dixon attended. The dinner was cooked and prepared by Dennis O’Brien and friends. As always, the firemen’s wives were in charge of salads and desserts. The drawdown started at 6 p.m. with a live auction throughout the evening, which raised more than $13,000. Brett Thomas from Ohio was the first-place winner of $1,000. Prior to the drawdown, firefighter Jim Becker from Ohio was presented with a plaque by Fire Chief Keith Ackerman for his outstanding dedication and service to the Ohio Fire Department. Over this last year, Jim has done a long list of projects at the fire station, one of which was completely repainting the fire station. Jim also helps order all EMS supplies, helps with training, keeps all of the trucks clean and is prepared to respond at all times. Comments
