Created: Monday, October 12, 2009 9:53 p.m. CST Updated: Monday, October 12, 2009 9:54 p.m. CST Ladd School BoardLADD — The Ladd School Board took action on the following items Sept. 22: • Heard the sixth-day enrollment was 182. • Heard 63 percent of the district’s families came to Curriculum Night. • Heard Student Council officers are president, Rachel Bezely; vice president, Lexi Piccatto; recorder, Jenna Edington; and treasurer, Michael Yuvan. Class representatives are eighth grade, Ian Trevier and Ashley Sartain; seventh grade, Dominic Pozzi and Lexi Saepharn; and sixth grade Julia King and Gabbie Morrow. • Heard DIBELS testing in grades K-4 is complete. MAP testing will be completed soon, and ISAT results were sent home with progress reports. • Heard the state is projecting a $12 billion deficit to start the new year. Superintendent Michelle Zeko said the finance committee will need to carefully review the state’s projections to determine the course of action for the district for the 2010-11 fiscal year. • Heard the laptops arrived for the mobile lab, and the software is being installed. Parents can now view their child’s grades online. The district’s new Web site will be launched soon. • Heard the district passed the Backflow Prevention Inspection. • Discussed the quote for engineering costs for drainage improvements in the backyard. During a rain, part of the guttering on the south side came down. A & M Guttermen provided a quote for replacement of the gutter on the south side recommending heavy-duty gutter and hangers. The board approved the $3,903 quote. • Heard a new school law states districts must post administrative salaries and benefits by Oct. 1. By July, districts must post all teacher salaries and benefits. • Approved the 2009-10 balanced budget as presented. • Approved the Application for Recognition of Schools. • Approved the School Improvement Plan. • Hired Chamlin & Associates of Peru for engineering services. • Approved the special education policies and procedures for the BMP Tri-County Special Education Cooperative as presented. • Released minutes from closed sessions. The next regular meeting of the board of education will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 20. in the school library. Comments
