Shepherd to portray daVinci at BV Oct. 20

MANLIUS — Scott Shepherd will present a theatrical impersonation of Leonardo daVinci at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Bureau Valley High School Auditorium. Shepherd’s performance is appropriate for students from third grade and up. The public is invited to attend this free program.

Shepherd has portrayed a variety of artists over a 10-year period to hundreds of Bureau Valley students. Shepherd presents himself as Leonardo daVinci the true Renaissance man ... the painter, the scientist ... the genius. Through the presentation of slides, discussion and a variety of demonstrations, Shepherd gives us the true Leonardo. The audience will also become a part of the show as they help to reenact some of Leonardo’s most famous works.

Everyone attending will gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the genius and scope of Leonardo’s inventions and there impact on our lives as well as being enriched by experiencing live theatre.

This program is funded through a grant written by BVHS visual art instructor Sheila L. Heth. It is funded by the Sun Foundation, the Illinois Arts Council – a state agency, and the Bureau Valley School District and art club.
