Knowing the truth

I don’t doubt that Mrs. Peterson believes what she wrote, however, simply presenting something as fact does not make it so. For instance, Page 50, Line (section) 152 of the health care bill she referenced does not have the language quoted, nor can it be interpreted as Mrs. Peterson represented, nor does it mention or even allude to illegal immigrants. You can point to as many e-mail forwards as you’d like that say it does, but take the time to research what you present. In other words, if you must shout, “You Lie!” please be sure of your facts. What that health care bill does say on Page 143 is: “Nothing in this subtitle shall allow federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.” I would further suggest/hope that you personally read Pages 425-429. I am not a proponent of the total health care bill as it stands, but presuming you believe what you wrote, you have been misinformed, and it would benefit you to read the referenced bill.
Whether you want to believe it or not, Glenn Beck did speak disparagingly about some of the families of 9/11 victims and did say he “hated” them. These comments, in their entirety, are available and can be viewed on you tube and other sites. Shouting “You Lie!” at something that disturbs you, does not make it so.
There are many issues in front of us that deserve time, attention and debate. I would hope that sooner rather than later, we can address topics with earnest discussions and all sides listening to truthful concerns.
