PERU — Illinois Valley Community Hospital will host a public open house from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 to celebrate the opening of its new digital mammography suite. Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be awarded at the event.

The digital mammography suite is located along the first floor hallway at IVCH. The IVCH diagnostic imaging department brought its new digital mammography unit online and began offering digital mammograms Aug.19. The change from film to digital mammography means all x-rays at IVCH are now being performed digitally. The hospital switched from a film to digital process for all other X-rays in November 2004.
