Sue Brummett
DAVENPORT, Iowa — Sue Brummett, 52, of Davenport, Iowa, died of cancer Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009 at home.
Born Nov. 11, 1956, in Princeton to Lewis and Mary (Cass) Olson, she married Michael Brummett June 28, 1975, at the Methodist church in Princeton. They later divorced. He died in 2008.
She graduated from Princeton High School in 1974 and then attended Sawyer Business College in Davenport, Iowa. She began working at the Rock Island Arsenal in 1975 rising to the G12 level. She was also secretary of the AFGE Local 15 Union at the arsenal.
Surviving are her fiancé, Chris Matthys of Davenport, Iowa; three children, Chad and Justin Brummett of Davenport, Iowa, and Aimee Brummett of Dewitt, Iowa; her parents of Princeton; one brother, Kent Olson of Moline; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Runge Mortuary in Davenport, Iowa. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery in Davenport.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
