PRINCETON — A Princeton woman is serving three months in the Bureau County Jail after pleading guilty to the Class 4 felony of computer fraud

Stacey M. Albrecht, 26, entered her guilty plea Oct. 7 before Associate Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich. In addition to the jail time, she was placed on two and one-half years probation with the condition she pay court costs and $476 restitution from her bond. She was also ordered to attend counseling.

In March 2009, an Ohio, Ill., woman reported to the Princeton Police Department she had been a victim of a theft occurring through the use of e-Bay. Based on information provided by the victim, Albrecht became a suspect. Albrecht had obtained money from the Ohio woman for a saddle which Albrecht did not own. Because the money was obtained by use of a computer, Albrecht was charged with computer fraud on April 17.

This is Albrecht’s first conviction.
