Lisa ClintonSPRING VALLEY — Lisa Clinton, registered nurse, director of occupational health at St. Margaret’s, recently obtained certification as an Illinois Professional Emergency Manager. The IPEM was established to provide an education and training standard for those involved in the emergency management field. Clinton also completed the professional development series in which, in addition to the core requirements, each candidate is required to complete 12 hours of IEMA/FEMA/IESMA-sponsored training. This elective coursework enables emergency managers to build an individual program that meets goals specific to their career and the particular needs of the local jurisdiction they serve. Completion of these courses provides for better collaboration between local, county and state agencies during disaster emergency response. Clinton has been employed at St. Margaret’s since 1976. In addition to being director of occupation health, Clinton also directs safety, emergency preparedness, transportation, support groups, community CPR, EMS and manages the following departments: health promotions, para transit, infection control and volunteer services. She is a certified healthcare safety professional, is chairperson of the Bureau/Putnam County Local emergency preparedness committee and is an Illinois Region 2 EMS advisory committee member.
