Yohnka: James and Kendra (Dahl) Yohnka of Kankakee are the parents of a son, James Kenneth, born Sept. 17 at University of Chicago Hospital. He weighed 3 pounds, 5 ounces, and measured 14 1/2 inches in length. Maternal grandparents are Beverly Dahl of Walnut and the late Kenneth Dahl. Paternal grandparents are James and Janice Yohnka of Chebanse, Ill. Great-grandparents are Bonita Yohnka of Chebanse, Ill., and the late Richard Yohnka, and the late Kenneth and Rosella Dahl, and the late Carl and Edith Purdy.

Emmett: Shawn and Ashley (Brown) Emmett of Princeton are the parents of a son, Brennen Edward, born Oct. 11 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. He weighed 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and measured 22 inches in length. He was welcomed home by one sister, Alexis, 2. Maternal grandparents are Tom and Conni Otto of Sheffield. Paternal grandparents are Larry and Cathy Emmett of Princeton. Great-grandparents are Joan Downey of Sheffield, Les and Phyllis Turner of Kasbeer, and Robert and Dorothy Emmett of Kasbeer.

Westerhold: Josh and Jodi (Sandberg) Westerhold of LaSalle are the parents of a daughter, Savannah Jo, born Oct. 7 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces, and measured 19 inches in length. Maternal grandparents are Kevin and Sharon Knudsen of Princeton, and the late Carl Sandberg. Paternal grandparents are Scott and Patti Minkler of Streator. Great-grandparents are Frieda Sandberg of Princeton, Marion Norlin of Princeton, Joan Ahlstrom of Streator, and Bob and Sharon Zelenak of Streator.

Martin: Jorge Marcial-Minkis and Kristina (Jackson) Martin are the parents of a daughter, Jyzel Rose, born Oct. 8 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. She weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and measured 19 inches in length. She was welcomed home by one brother, Jordyn, 3, and two sisters, Jadyn, 4, and Jasmyn, 1. Maternal grandparent is Patricia Jackson of Spring Valley. Paternal grandparents are Maria Minkis-Jemich of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, and Iginio Marcial-Baxin. Great-grandparents are Margarita Temich-Xolio and Margarito Minkis-Seba of Juan Jacobo Torres, Veracruz, Mexico, and Epifonia Cagal-Baxin of LeRodonda, Veracruz, Mexico. Great-great-grandparent is Andrea Xolio-Pava of Veracruz, Mexico.

Simonetta: James and Marites (Caraballe) Simonetta of Spring Valley are the parents of a daughter, Mary Theresa, born Oct. 8 at Saint Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley. She weighed 8 pounds, 10 ounces, and measured 19 inches in length. Maternal grandparents are Romeo Caraballe and Fedila Caraballe of the Philippines.

Smoode: Calvin and Jennifer (Rodriguez) Smoode of Spring Valley are the parents of a son, Carter James, born Oct. 9 at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
