Tiny Tiger Preschool accepting applications

PRINCETON — Tiny Tigers Preschool has a few openings available for children from 3 to 5 years old for the 2009-10 year.

The preschool is held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings November through May at Princeton High School.

Twenty years ago the child care occupations class introduced the preschool to high school students interested in a future career with young children. Several former Tiny Tigers have become Tiny Tiger teachers while in high school. Others now have their own classrooms.

The high school students enrolled in child care occupations learn appropriate curriculum for young children, prepare lesson plans and teach these activities to the Tiny Tigers. Activities focus around weekly themes in art, cooking, math, stories, easel, sensory table, puzzles and songs. The activities are designed to meet the areas of social/emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of development.

For additional information, contact Nancy Charbonneau at Princeton High School, (815) 875-3308 for e-mail ncharbonneau@phs-il.org.
