Meeting set

PRINCETON — Professional Home Economists of Bureau County will meet at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Julie McCutchan, 508 Billings St., Princeton. Scott Jensen, site supervisor for Crescent Ridge Wind Farms, will speak on wind farms and wind as a renewable energy source. For more information, call Julie McCutchan at (815) 875-2092. College Fair

KEWANEE — Black Hawk College – East Campus in Kewanee will host its annual College Fair from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Building A. Area high school students and their parents are invited to attend this free event. More than 50 colleges are expected to attend. World Community Day

PRINCETON — Church Women United of Princeton will sponsor the 2009 World Community Day at 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Princeton. The meeting will begin with a light soup and sandwich supper at 5 p.m. in the church fellowship hall, followed by the worship service. Women across the country will gather to participate in this worship service based on the theme “Piecing Earth Together.”

Halloween party

BUDA — The annual Halloween party in Buda will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Community Hall in Buda. Trick-or-treat will follow from 5 to 7 p.m.

Optimist fundraiser

PRINCETON — The Princeton Optimist Club is now selling Texas oranges and grapefruit as its major fundraiser of the year. The cost of the fruit is $18 for a 20-pound box of grapefruit or oranges. A 20-pounds mixed box of oranges and grapefruit is $20. Order forms can be picked up and turned at Gustafson’s Ace Hardware, the Bureau County Senior Center or any Optimist Club member. Those interested may also order by calling (815) 875-3767 or (815) 875-1266. Delivery of the fruit will be about Dec. 1.
