Hole in one

PRINCETON — Keith Ballard of Princeton shot a hole-in-one Tuesday at Hunter’s Ridge Golf Course, acing the 122-yard No. 17 hole with his 8 iron. It was witnessed by Bill Livey and Jim Breck. The hole-in-one is the second for Ballard at the Princeton course.
BFA meeting
LASALLE — The Better Fishing Association of Northern Illinois will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the V.F.W. Post 4668 Hall, located at 24th and Donohue streets in LaSalle. On the agenda will be the executive board appointments. Reports will be given on the recent Springfield Conservation Congress and the 2009 Governor’s conference on the management of the Illinois River system.
BFA board members will meet at 6 p.m. prior to the regular meeting. As usual the admissions is free and door prizes will be awarded at the end of the meeting. The meeting is open to the public.
Princeton Shootout
PRINCETON — The Princeton High School Sports Booster Club will be holding this year’s girls’ basketball shootout on Nov. 21-22 for grades 5-8. Entry fee is $100 for a three-game guarantee. YMCA 5-on-5 basketball
PERU —The Illinois Valley YMCA is holding a men’s corporate 5-on-5 basketball league to be held Wednesdays after 5:30 p.m. There will an A and B division. Team fee is $300 plus $25 for non-members. For more information, call (815) 223-7904.

SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley Walleye Club will hold its 15th annual Members Only Tournament on Nov. 28 at Barto Landing. This is a catch and release tournament. Payouts are first place, $750; second place, $375; and third place, $250. Entry fee is $60 per team, $120 after Nov. 21.
