Isaacson opens photo studio

PRINCETON — A former Princeton High School graduate has opened her own photography studio in town.
Nicole Isaacson, who graduated from Princeton High School and then earned her bachelor’s degree in photography from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2004, moved Nicole Isaacson Photography to 927 N. Main St. in Princeton in August, after operating her business from a smaller apartment for three years.
“I like to take relaxed photos, not all formal and posed photos,” she said. “I like to incorporate a person’s personality in the photos.”
She mainly specializes in senior portraits and weddings but also takes family pictures, children and baby photographs as well.
She also would like to set up different sets to use the space in the basement of her studio in the winter, when the weather doesn’t permit her to get outside and take photos.
“I like to photograph outside at various locations in Princeton and surrounding towns, not just studio backdrops,” she said.
Her new studio is about 1,100 square feet, compared to the 600 square feet of space the studio was in her Main Street apartment.
She started taking pictures after college while working other part-time jobs, but then she decided to go full-time.
When she moved to the larger location, she now has a dedicated space in the studio to take pictures.
Isaacson plans on having an open house at her new location on Nov. 6 during the North End Annual Wine Walk. Her studio will be open until 8 p.m. that Friday night for people to see some of the portraits she has taken plus her studio, which includes a large screen TV for photos to be seen using her computer.
