Lauren Bowman and Shane Thompson were united in marriage July 19 at the Princeton Bible Church by Pastor Ken Wilson. Nuptial music was provided by Joseph Bowman, pianist.
The bride is the daughter of Greg and Joann Bowman of Princeton. The groom is the son of Rick and Sue Thompson of Princeton.
The bride wore a strapless dress. The bodice area was beaded with little flowers. The cathedral-length dress split open in back all the way down and the beading ran the length of the train. She wore a cathedral-length veil with sequin throughout and a tiara made of swarovski crystal and tiny pearls. She wore a swarovski crystal necklace that matched the tiara and earrings borrowed from her mother. She carried fuchsia gerber daises and white lilies.
Keri Mills, friend of the bride, was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Megan Evans, sister of the bride, and Tabetha Morton and Vanessa Baxter, friends of the bride. Frances Bowman, sister of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid.
The attendants wore simple black dresses with black sandals and two cala lilies tied with fuchsia ribbon.
Troy Thompson, brother of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Eric Thompson, brother of the groom, and Matt Kinsman and Marshall Nichols, friends of the groom. Kyle Evans, brother-in-law of the bride, and Anthony Cain, friend of the groom, were ushers.
A reception to honor the couple was held at Three Olive in Princeton. Assistants at the reception were Don and Diane Evans.
The couple will soon be making their home in Alaska.
The bride is a graduate of Princeton High School and received her computer aided drafting degree from Hamilton Technical College in Davenport, Iowa. She is a retail sales consultant at AT&T.
The groom is a graduate of Princeton High School and received his associate’s degree in science from Illinois Valley Community College. He is serving with the U.S. Coast Guard.
