Toy drive

PRINCETON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its fourth annual toy drive. The event will begin Sunday and runs through Dec. 12. Toys can be dropped off for children from birth to 12 years at the Legion Post vestibule during this time. All toys collected will be distributed to children in Bureau County who are less fortunate. HCE meeting

PRINCETON — The Northwest Princeton unit of HCE will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Barb Ollila, 935 N. Church. Gloria Hansen will be co-hostess and Nancy Hennings will furnish the auction gift.

Youth dance

PRINCETON — A youth dance for eighth graders and younger, sponsored by the Princeton Moose Kids Club, will be from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Nov. 7 at the Princeton Moose Lodge. Admission is $4, with food and drinks provided.

Breakfast planned

PRINCETON — The Princeton Veterans’ all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast will be from 7 a.m. to noon Nov. 15 at the American Legion building, 1549 W. Peru St. in Princeton. Tickets are $6 for adults, $3 for ages 4-12. This is a major fundraiser for the group.

Pancake breakfast

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club will host an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 8. Veterans will eat free. The menu will include pancakes, sausage, ham, eggs, toast, orange juice, milk and coffee. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-10.

Table top fair

PRINCETON — A table top fair will be held from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 13 in the north lobby of Perry Memorial Hospital. Featured will be jewelry, purses, watches and more. Proceeds will go for needed equipment at the hospital. For more information, call Lou at (815) 879-7431.

Review course

SPRING VALLEY— A Rules of the Road review course will be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 13 at the Richard A. Mautino Memorial Library. The course is free. This class will help participants pass the Illinois driver’s license renewal examination. It also prepares applicants for the general written and road examinations, and provides information on vision screening.

Veterans Day services

LADD — The Ladd American Legion will conduct their annual Veterans Day services at Ladd Memorial Park beginning at 10:45 a.m. Nov. 11. The firing quad will fire a salute to all veterans, living and deceased. The pubic is invited to the service. In case of inclement weather, the services will be held at the Ladd American Legion Hall.

Fall bazaar

STANDARD — The Putnam County Senior Center will hold its annual fall bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 7 at the senior center in Standard. The event will feature homemade ravioli, noodles, fruit pies and candy. A lunch will be available with barbecue, chips, drinks and soup. There will be other baked goods, crafts and a silent auction will be held. Funds raised are used for the Center’s program.
