Ladd Village Board 9-22

LADD — The Ladd Village Board took action on the following items at its meeting Sept. 22:
• Accepted the quote of $1,449 from A & M Guttermen for new gutters on the electric building.
• Discussed the purchase of a new mosquito sprayer with no action taken.
• Approved donations to IVAC and the Ladd Fire Department.
• Invested $20,000 of Motor Fuel Tax funds in a 30-day CD.
• Heard Trustee John Heuser will begin a household income survey soon. South Peru Avenue and a portion of East Cleveland Street will be canvassed. The survey is a requirement to apply for a CDAP grant. The village is seeking grant money to perform water main rehabilitation work.
• Heard Village Attorney Patrick Barry report an agreement has not been reached on a new Ameren gas franchise. The village’s 50-year agreement with Ameren expired on Oct. 1.
• Heard Barry continues to negotiate a franchise agreement with Comcast.
• Passed on the T6 proposal to lease the village water tower for broadband equipment.
• Discussed the results of an electric rate study and accepted the engineer’s recommendations. A new electric rate structure will take effect on May 1, 2010.
• Discussed water and sewer utility rates with no action taken.
• Reviewed the Fiscal Year 2010 operating budget.
