Aledo Mercer County 22, Bureau Valley 19: Quarterback Brett Anderson scored a 1-yard touchdown with 17.9 seconds remaining to lift Aledo Mercer County past Bureau Valley in opening round play of the 2A playoffs Saturday in Aledo.

Bureau Valley (7-3) took a 13-7 halftime lead on Alex Franklin's punt return and Michael Weidner's 1-yard run with 52 seconds left in the second quarter. The Golden Eagles rallied for a 14-13 lead in the third quarter and Storm regained a 20-14 lead in the fourth on Weidner's 2-yard run in the first minute of the fourth quarter.

Amboy/LaMoille 41, ROWVA 0: The Clippers posted a first-round shutout over ROWVA, also in Class 2A. The Clippers will host Annawan/Wethersfield, which was a 23-21 winner at home over Clifton Central.

In other playoff action, Mendota beat Elgin St. Edward 27-13 in 4A and Morrison beat Deer Creek-Mackinaw 55-20 and Orion edged Stark County 24-21 in 2A.
