Kenneth "Paul" Watts

KEWANEE — Kenneth Paul Watts, 81, of Kewanee passed away Monday, Nov. 9, 2009, in his home, with his loving wife by his side.

Paul, as he was known by his family and friends, was born Sept. 14, 1928, in Promise City, Iowa. His parents were William Thomas Watts and Bessie Agnes Loving.

He married Doris Huenefeld on July 17, 1956, in Crown Point, Ind. To this union, one daughter was born, Susan Elaine (Ray) Feuerborn of Cederville, and a stepson, Michael Chris (Sandy) Watts of Freeport. They divorced June 25, 1962.

He then married Diana Sue Frail in Rock Island on Oct. 20, 1973. To this union three daughters were born, Norma Jean (Timothy) Carroll of Buda, Tina Louise Watts of Kewanee, and Rose Ann (Matthew) Weir of LaFayette. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Robert Thomas Watts and William Albert Watts; and three sisters, Mildred Mae Jacikas, Jessie Viola Stinson, and Flora Patricia Dalton.

He was a truck driver for more than 30 years and a big fan of Tony Stewart. He was a musician and played guitar almost all his life. He played lead guitar for Ernie Veer, a close friend whom he was very fond of, and many others. He always said what made him happiest was spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

He was a gentle and loving man and will be greatly missed.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford, with Father Jaroslaw S. Rafalko officiating. Burial will be in Sheffield Cemetery.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the family of Kenneth P. Watts.
