Annawan’s Buresh to sign with Quincy

ANNAWAN — Kelly Buresh and the Annawan Bravettes will be starting the 2009-10 season soon. Buresh knows where she will be playing next year, as well.

The Annawan all-stater will sign a national letter of intent Thursday morning at AHS to continue her career at Quincy University. The Bravettes’ forward averaged 20.4 points and 8.2 rebounds a game, shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 83.1 percent from the free throw line. She led the Bravettes to a 27-3 record and a No. 1 ranking in the final AP poll.

She was chosen all-state her junior season by the Chicago Sun Times, the Associated Press, Illinois Basketball Coaches Association and was the Illinois Basketball Services Player of the Year.

She enters her senior season as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,674 points.
