Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin (Megan) Banwart

Megan Marie Machek and Benjamin Edward Banwart were united in marriage Aug. 8 at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake. The Rev. Kristopher Hewitt of the Ivanhoe Congregational Church of Mendelein, a personal friend of the family, officiated. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her brothers, Stuart Machek and Aaron Machek. Special readings were given by Michelle Dellavalle, Diane Davidson and Kristin Doell. Guitar music was performed by Jared Sherman, friend of the couple.

The bride is the daughter of Nora Machek of Spring Valley and the late Robert Machek. The groom is the son of Janet and Ronald Banwart of Elgin.

Jamie Shouse, friend of the bride, was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Susie Shore, Jaime Kambs and Amy Lane. Madeline Spayer, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

T.J. Robison served as best man. Groomsmen were Andy Banwart, Evan fox and Lars Pedersen. Mitchell Wolfert and Nick Richards were ushers. Samuel Machek, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer.

A reception to honor the couple was held after the ceremony.

After a wedding trip to Arizona, the couple is making their home in St. Charles.

The bride is a graduate of DePue High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English education from Western Illinois University. She has a master’s degree in educational leadership/Type 75 from Aurora University. She is an English teacher at Elgin Larkin High School, School District U-46.

The groom is a graduate of Elgin High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in history education from Illinois State University. He is pursuing a master’s degree in special education from Aurora University. He is a history/English teacher at the Einstein Academy in Elgin.
