NCICG annual dinner

PRINCETON — The North Central Illinois Council of Governments will celebrate its 30th year of operation at its annual dinner today, Thursday, at Wise Guys Bar & Grill in Princeton.

The keynote speaker will be Carol Kulek from the Bureau of Energy and Recycling, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The topic will be “Energy Efficiency Resources for Local Governments.” Attendees will learn how DCEO and NCICG will be working with Federal Recovery Funds to help communities become more energy efficient.

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, NCICG will celebrate its 30th year by recognizing the following former mayors and village presidents for their support of NCICG: Tim Shipp, president, village of Bureau Junction; Don Bosnich Jr., president, village of DePue; Kevin Troglio, president, village of Mark; James A. Narczewski, mayor, city of Spring Valley; Larry L. Harber, mayor, city of Toluca; in memoriam James Kupec, mayor, city of Wenona; and John Gordon, president, village of Wyanet.

NCICG, a non-profit regional planning agency, has been providing planning, technical assistance, and grant writing services to counties, townships and communities since 1979. NCICG works to strengthen the capacity of local governments in the North Central Illinois region, and to provide information about and access to state and federal programs through a program of intergovernmental cooperation.
