Created: Friday, November 20, 2009 10:39 p.m. CST Updated: Friday, November 20, 2009 10:42 p.m. CST Bureau County BoardPRINCETON — The Bureau County Board conducted the following business at its Nov. 10 meeting in the Bureau County Courthouse: • Approved a conditional use permit to the village of New Bedford to replace an emergency siren on a utility pole. • Approved a request from Chad May to rezone property from agriculture to residential estate to bring existing property into compliance with county zoning ordinance. Also approved a final plat for the Gobbler’s Knob Subdivision, planned by May, in Berlin Township. • Approved a rezoning request from James McCune for a conditional use permit to build a private landing strip and hangar in Gold Township. • Approved budget amendments as presented for the 2008-09 fiscal year. • Approved the 2009-10 budget and resolutions, following a month’s review of the budget. • Heard the construction work at the courthouse is about completed, as reported by Buildings and Grounds Committee Chairman Kristi Warren. • Heard an update on the local health department’s progress on H1N1 clinics, as presented by Health Board member Loretta Volker. County Board member Rick Wilkin commended the health department for its proactive work in getting the H1N1 vaccines out to the high priority groups. • Recorded Tom Giordano, Daniel Rabe, Laura Rose, Jim Thompson and Marc Wilt as absent. • Noted the meeting started 25 minutes late to give time for necessary copies of materials to be made for the board.
