Geneseo used a blocked punt for one touchdown and an interception to set up a field goal to tackle the Mendota Trojans 19-7  in Saturday's 4A quarterfinal contest in front of a large crowd at Doenier Field in Mendota.

The Trojans took a 6-0 lead on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Jordan Fritz to Travis Martinson in the first quarter, but missed the point after. A 32-yard field goal by Fritz gave the Trojans a 9-7 hafltime lead after the Maple Leafs recovered a blocked punt in the end zone.

At Kewanee: Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley rode the running of Michael Romshak, who carried the ball 36 times for 263 yards and four touchdowns, to a 32-20 win over the Annawan/Wethersfield Titans in a 2A quarterfinal game at Wethersfield Stadium in Kewanee.

In other playoff action, Three Rivers champ Morrison defeated Orion 14-7 on a pair of touchdowns by Josh Voss in 2A while Sterling Newman fell to No. 1 ranked Stillman Valley 21-20 in 3A.
