DIXON — Kenneth R. Rinehart, 85, of Dixon died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2009, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Feb. 28, 1924, in Dixon to Lloyd Revere and Verna (Miller) Rinehart, he married Helen Zuend Nov. 11, 1946, in Dixon. She survives.

He had been a machinist for Henry Pratt and Co. for 31 years prior to his retirement in 1986.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifetime member of Dixon VFW Post 540 and was the past treasurer for the Dixon Elks Club.

Also surviving are one daughter, Linda Sullivan of Princeton; five brothers, Raymond (Rita) Rinehart, Ronald (Martha) Rinehart, Gary (Danne) Rinehart all of Wellton, Ariz., Deleven Rinehart of Dixon and Wayne Rinehart of Phoenix; one sister, Sharon Kennedy of DeKalb; two grandsons, Jason (Angie) Sullivan of Lisle and Shawn Sullivan of Princeton; two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Mikayla Sullivan of Lisle; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Carol Rinehart; one brother, Darrel Rinehart; and two sisters, Ethel Mae Moore and Ila Fay Rinehart.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Jones Funeral Home, Dixon, with the Rev. James R. Keenan officiating. Burial of cremains will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established.
